Loose Watercolor Florals

One of my recent goals was to watercolor without adding additional detail and contrast with color pencils. Frequently, I watercolor with ink pads in a very controlled manner.

So, I switched things up and tried loose watercolor with Altenew Watercolor 36 Pan Set. The muted tones and opaque quality of these paints enhance the beauty of these lovely florals!

Use watercolors that you have on hand. The popular Kuratake Gansai Tambi watercolor pans have a similar opaque quality as does gauche.

For this project I’ve used Altenew Watercolor 36 Pan Set in Coral Berry, Fresh Lemon, Pink Diamond, Cotton Candy, Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades, and Industrial Diamond.
