Astrobright Cardstock

There are 26 different colors in the Astrobright line. Some of my favorites are Rocket Red, Pulsar Pink, Terrestrial Teal, Gamma Green, and Terra Green.

Note: Pulsar Pink is a lot more neon than it appears.

Here’s a couple of cards I created with Astrobright Rocket Red and Stardream Metallic Lapis Lazuli last year.

Stencil Heat Embossing

The trick to designing with high impact colors is to break up the color with a high contrast cardstock or other elements. My first card breaks up the pink panel with heat embossing.

The tone on tone effect of the WOW! Clear Hologram Sparkle embossing powder adds interest while toning down the large area of neon pink. The eyes are drawn to the high contrast black banner and sentiment.

Washi Tape

Wide washi tape with a mostly white background is perfect to tone down an expanse of bright cardstock while adding a pattern and texture.

For this card, I’ve used Altenew Dotted Washi Tape, Simon Says Stamp CZ Design Thanks Die and Simon Says Stamp Tiny Words Stamp Set.

Dimensional Dies

Add dimension and interest to your card with Altenew Pressed Leaf Die and some hand-drawn Zentangle® accents.

Pop up the die-cut panel for increased dimension. I added an embossed border to the pink panel and black card front for a finished look. Nuvo Glitter Gloss pen added just the right amount of sparkle.

That’s a wrap, guys. I hope you feel inspired to make a statement with bright bold colored cardstock. Thanks for joining me and I’ll be back soon with more inspiration!
