3 in 1 Stencil On Stamp Technique

This is such a great Altenew release and I’m delighted to share 6 cards featuring easy watercolor plus a stencil on stamp technique!

YouTube Tutorial |Stencil on Stamps Technique

My original video for this release showcased an Altenew watercolor set on 5/6 of the cards. They’re amazing and I had so much fun with them!!

The watercolor release was delayed a bit, but hold tight because they’re coming soon. For now, I will delay my original video and demonstrate my 3 in 1 Stencil on Stamp technique. Watch here or in HD on YouTube.

Altenew January Release

This release has fabulous florals, foliage, vases to put them in, and stand-alone dies!! Plus, Hello and Hugs, my new favorite sentiment stamp and die bundle.

Altenew January Stamp Die Stencil Release

Without further ado, let’s jump into the projects. There are 5 watercolor cards and a fun stencil on stamp technique.

Easy Watercolor + Stencil on Stamps Technique

Watercolor Swatch Card

After opening the lovely watercolors, I grabbed a scrap of my favorite watercolor paper and started swatching. The scrap wasn’t big enough for all the colors, so I turned it into a card.

Watercolor Swatch Card | Hello and Hugs Stamp & Die Bundle

Just like the sentiment says, this card makes me smile. I am in love with the new Hello and Hugs Stamp and Die Bundle. The scripty font is bouncy but not cutesy making it perfect for cards and projects for all genders.

Bold Floral Drape + Artist Watercolor

As soon as I saw this stamp, I knew I wanted to create a bold black background with colorful flowers. In lieu of using the flower stamps, I watercolored.

Stamping a full 6×6 background allows me to create a twofer set, YAY! These colors make me so happy. I used Green Meadow, Cherry Blossom, Cool Summer Night, and Fall Harvest.

Ornate Cover Die + Wild Flora

Ornate is too right, this pattern is beautifully detailed. I started by creating a gradient wash panel with Lapis Lazuli Artist Watercolor. Then I dry embossed and silver heat embossed the panel. Look at that color!

Altenew Ornate Cover Die & Altenew Artists Watercolor Pan Set

I stamped an image from Wild Flora Stamp & Die Bundle on vellum and popped it up on foam tape. The vellum shifted when I stamped it so there’s a double line, but I kinda like the effect.

Foam tape was hidden under the leaf and stem junctures. It’s visible at the flower centers which adds a nice pop of white.

Wild Flora Stamp & Die Bundle

I couldn’t pass up the chance to watercolor one of the images from Wild Flora. The images are large and great for all your favorite coloring mediums.

I never know how to finish off a watercolor background so that it looks natural. Therefore, I decided to partially die-cut the image. I popped it up on navy metallic cardstock to contrast the yellow-orange flowers.

Retro Plantines & Mod Vases

I was digging the look of the Retro Plantines foliage and was inspired to add a pattern to the Mod Vases Stamp Set. Be sure to watch the video for this technique.

Altenew Retro Plantines & Mod Vases | Stencil on Stamp Technique

I cut a piece of 27lb vellum with the Ornate Cover Die, placed it atop the Mod Vases stamp, and used an ink dauber to add Azurite, Teal Cave, and Minty Mint ink to the stamp. Next, I stamped and die cut the image.

I spritzed the ink remaining on the vellum stencil and pressed it onto cardstock for a 2nd look. Then I adhered the vellum stencil to another piece of cardstock to create a 3rd vase and look.

That’s all for today. Thanks so much for stopping by! Giveaway, supplies, and next stop are below.
