Stencil Techniques
It’s always nice to stretch your supplies by using them with different techniques. Stencils are quite versatile and have an excellent price point making them a great value.
In this card, I used a stencil from the My Monthly Hero December 2017 kit to stamp and emboss a background. I inked the back of the stencil with 3 Altenew Crisp Dye Ink colors: Mango Smoothie, Cotton Candy, and Peach Perfect, and then dry embossed an A2 sized card panel.
I die cut the embossed background with a large banner die from Sizzix and then inked the edges with the Cotton Candy stamp pad. The adorable fox is from the Hug Me Stamp & Die Bundle, one of the few critter sets from Altenew. I absolutely love the style of the illustrations…and would love to see more critters in this style. Hint, hint!!
I have a small collection of Copic markers and have only used them a handful of times. I was so pleased with how this little guy turned out. I ink blended Peach Perfect onto the card front at the point of the banner and covered it with Wink of Stella Glitter Pen.
Black and white washi tape was used to add contrast and frame the banner. The sentiment was white heat embossed on a My Favorite Things stitched banner and coated with Wink of Stella Clear Glitter pen.
I enjoyed coloring this and will definitely be giving critters and Copics another go in the future! This is my 9th submission for the Altenew Educator Certification Program. Thanks for stopping by. Breathe · Ink · Enjoy
