This card comes together so quickly due to the perfect amount of detail Sophia has added to the blooms. Watch here or in HD on YouTube.

Copic Markers

I’m am currently having a love affair with my blue-violet markers. I can’t seem to get enough of them. When Sophia posted a sneak peek of this image on Instagram, I knew I needed to color it with blue-violet.

I wanted the petals to appear translucent so I chose light markers, BV02, BV04, and B91. For the centers, I used E70, E71, E77, and E000.

These leaves are illustrated so well and are easy to color due to their built-in dimension. For the leaves, I went with YG03, YG61, YG43, G46.

For the baby’s breath, I used E000, E70, and E71. Add very small touches of shadow, just a dot here or there so it doesn’t overpower.

More about Sophia J Caldwell

I can’t wait to see the rest of Sophia’s upcoming release! Check out her current products in her Etsy and Creative Market shops linked below. For updates on the new release, follow Sophia on Instagram @sophiajcaldwell.

Sophia has a vintage-inspired collection of illustrations called the Digital Florist as well as a rose collection. Some of the images from Sophia’s digital Florist line were featured in a Hedgehog Hollow subscription box. This is how I was first introduced to her images.

I love being able to blow up the images larger than life for easy coloring. Whether you’re new or an experienced colorist, the detail Sophia adds to her images makes adding shadows a breeze.

Beautiful! Guess this floral hasn’t released yet – found nothing like it at the links. A bit disappointing when featured product can’t be located. Wonder when the new release will be available? No need to respond – just sayin.

    1. Thanks, Denise! You’re correct. It’s a sneak peek of an upcoming release. I don’t have the release date. I’ll post an update once it goes live.
