Coloring the Floral Image

This card is super simple, so there’s no video today. I started by stamping and coloring the peony stamp from The Hedgehog Hollow August 2019 subscription box. This box is a collaboration with Alex Syberia and is available as a one-off in the shop.

I used all four shades of the Altenew Rose Petal Artist Markers for the petals. For the center, I used four shades of gray from Altenew Rock Collection Artist Markers.

I colored dark to light adding shading to the base of the petals, where petals overlap, and underneath petal folds.

No Masking Card Design

To eliminate the need for masking, I decided I would need a couple of elements to cover the overlapped stamping.

For a centerpiece, I die-cut a piece of gold-kraft chevron pattern paper from one of the subscription boxes. Then I fussy cut the floral image.

I arranged these on my card to determine where my foliage needed to be stamped. Then, I removed the die-cuts and stamped the foliage in light gray ink. The small leaf and berries overlap as do the two leaves at the bottom.

Next, I popped-up the die-cuts with foam adhesive and added a sentiment strip and Pretty Pink Posh Marshmallow Confetti.

I like the soft blending of the flower. It looks like a paining.

    1. Thank you!! It was quite relaxing which is unusual for me and color pencil. The trick is a light hand.
