WOW! Trios Gemstone

The new WOW! Trios Gemstone is spectacular and inspired by Tracy Scott. It includes Tanzanite, Aquamarine, and Peridot and enough sparkle to rival any faceted beauty.

Tip for Immediate Success with Glitter Embossing Powder

For immediate success with glitter embossing powders, emboss double-sided tape. I used 1/8 inch Scor-Tape in this example.  The double-sided tape holds onto the glitter like a vice-grip and embosses with clean lines.

Reminder Tips for Clean Glitter Embossing Results

Even fine and fancy sentiments like this one from Altenew Fancy Greetings can be embossed with glitter embossing powder. How do I do it cleanly?

Treat with anti-static powder tool. While this isn’t new, it’s important. WOW! embossing powders are anti-static, but that doesn’t prevent the oils from hands and fingers from transferring to your cardstock.

Use the WOW! Clear Ultra Slow Drying Embossing Ink Pad. I have two other brands of embossing ink and I get the best results with WOW!

Use a stamp positioner and double stamp your sentiment, but don’t push too hard or it will distort the fine lines of the font.

Game-Changing Tips for Glitter Embossing

These glitter embossing tips were game-changers for me. When using glitter embossing powders, gently tap off the excess, don’t flick the cardstock. See the significant difference between the flick vs. tap in my video. It seems like a small thing but it makes a world of difference.

Lastly, heat your glitter embossing powder from underneath the cardstock. Heating from the back will melt the embossing powder and embed the glitter. If you start heating from the front before the embossing powder has melted the glitter will blow away.

How to Layer Stamp with Glitter Embossing Powder

Now that you know all the tips to achieve fantastic results with glitter embossing, layer stamping should be a breeze!

In the cupcake above the Tanzanite, glitter frosting was embossed over a solid layer of Peridot glitter embossing powder. The same tips apply.

I treated the cardstock and peridot glitter with an anti-static powder tool, double stamped the detail frosting, shook the Tanzanite powder, sprinkled, and heated from underneath the cardstock. Look how cleanly the pink layer embossed, I was so impressed!

I hope these glitter embossing tips inspire you to get your sparkly craft on! Thanks so much for stopping by. We’d love to see what you’re creating! Please tag us @wowembossing and @notableink. Stay tuned for my next post, elegant CAS Glintz embossing cards.

Glitter is okay. Glitter everywhere is not, so this seems like a great way to add some sparkle without letting is loose on everything. I am in awe of the lane background and will give that a try. First time seeing the eraser and glue pen, so I will link through and pick that up to try out.

    1. 🤣 I totally agree! I’m good with glitter embossing. I have not braved legit glitter yet. I fear it would be everywhere! Thank you! I think you’ll enjoy the large glue pen. It’s great for vellum too.
