Copic Yumminess

Recently I’ve created a few cards to hone my Copic skills and to experiment with class ideas. Since I was merely practicing, I didn’t videotape…and now I’m kicking myself because I love how this card turned out!

Copic Colored Lawn Fawn Thanks a Latte

I started by stamping most of the images from Lawn Fawn Thanks a Latte set on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White with Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink. This set is so clever! I love how the rim of the cups, marshmallows, and latte foam line up so easily!

Once the Copic safe ink was dry, I started coloring away. I’ve had this Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Christmas Petite Paper Pack for over a year and I still love the colors. Aqua is my jam you know! So I wanted to coordinate my Copic coloring with the paper.

Copic Markers

Aqua: BG10, BG13, BG49
Pink: RV21, RV25, RV29
White: W1, W3 (marshmallows, cup, & whipped cream)

Once the coloring was done, it was time to assemble die cut the images and window. I cut a piece of 110lb Neenah Classic Crest Solar White with Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle A2 sized die and cut the window with Lawn Fawn Reverse Stitched Circle Window Die.

I cut a 3×3 square of the Perfectly Plaid Christmas paper. I also die cut a piece of Simon Says Stamp Fog Grey cardstock with the Simon Says Stamp Tilted Banner Die. This is a fabulous die because it scores the banner for folding to add great dimension!

Now I was ready to assemble the card. I wanted to create a lot of depth between the card front and the plaid paper so I backed the card front with 2 layers of foam tape.

Tip: Cut a strip of foam tape and fold it back on itself to quickly add twice the thickness. Remove the paper backing to make the foam more pliable before adhering to curved areas.

I adhered the plaid paper to the window, & the card front to an A2 sized card base. I then started to arrange the cups.

These too, needed a double layer of foam tape to sit at the same height as the card panel. I tucked the teal cup under neat the scalloped edge and the white cup on top of the scalloped edge. There was a gap under the cups which I disguised with marshmallows.

I stamped the sentiment in VersaFine Onyx Black Ink and clear heat embossed before folding and adhering the banner to the card front. I embellished with Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Confetti Mix and called it done.

I just love how it turned out! Be sure to check out my Instagram account @notableink for a Copic Giveaway that ends September 19th at 5PM PST.

Thanks for stopping by & I hope this card inspires you to get creative! Breathe · Ink · Inspire
