Naughty Santa At Copic Beach
Laura Kelly’s stamps from The Hedgehog Hollow November 2019 box certainly bring out my humorous side. In this installment, Santa is getting naughty at Copic Beach.
As soon as he hit our warm Southern California weather he went, skinny dipping. Gasp! Well, who can blame him, it’s freezing at the North Pole! Folks, I didn’t film this card because, to be honest, I wasn’t sure it would turn out. I had the idea, so I googled a beach dune scene and started Copic coloring.
Here’s the beach scene photo from Shutterstock I used for inspiration. Click the image to go directly to the source.
I prefer the colors in the photo, but I was dependent on the colors in my stash so my beach is a bit peach. Looks like I need to add to my marker collection. I’ll list the colors I used in case you’re interested.
Copic Sketch Markers
0, W00, W1, W3, W5, W7
E000, E50, E21, YR000, E31
BG000, BG01, BG10, BG70

BV20, BV23
YG91, YG95, YG99
R35, R37, R39
I added a highlight to the ocean with a white Sakura Gelly Roll 10 pen and used white paint for the fluffy trim on Santa’s discarded hat and mitten. I wrote Ho, Ho, Ho on a scrap of paper, cut it out in the shape of a speech bubble, and popped it up on the card.
That’s a wrap, guys. I hope you enjoyed this card. It was fairly easy to do with the photo reference and I hope you give it a whirl. Thanks for stopping by and I’ll see you soon with more inspiration.
