Autumn Festival Leaf Mix Cards | Altenew Release
It’s hot as heck here in SoCal, but surely Autumn is on its way! I’m sharing three Autumn Festival Leaf Mix cards featuring some of my faves from the Altenew Stand-Alone Die Release.

Texture Adventure Stand-Alone Dies
Here’s a closer look a the brand new Texture Adventure Stand-Alone Die release. The Leaf Mix Die Set, Burlap Texture, and Featured Sentiment Die Set were really calling to me. Which products tickle your fancy?

Autumn Festival Leaf Mix
Even though I now live in sunny Southern California, I fondly remember beautiful Autumn days on the East Coast. But, let’s be honest I don’t miss raking 100 bags of leaves every fall. So, I’ll settle for these watercolor Leaf Mix die-cuts.
There are 14 dies included in the Leaf Mix Die Set and I cut each from Altenew Watercolor Paper. Place Post-It Tape on the backside to keep the die-cuts in place for coloring. Autumn Festival Watercolor Brush Markers are these fall leaves.
Use a mix of Yellow Ochre, Mango Smoothie, Sea Forest, Winter Fog, and Tree Bark Autumn Festival Watercolor Brush Markers.
After the leaves dried, I ink smooshed them and a 4.25 x 5.5-inch piece of white cardstock into the leftover ink on my glass mat. This ups the layers of texture.
For the Burlap Texture die-cut, I ink smooshed a piece of wood grain vellum paper with same watercolors. The vellum didn’t absorb the ink, but it stained it enough to create color variation and texture.
I glued this to a piece of white cardstock before die-cutting with the Burlap Texture Die. You can achieve a similar look with Altenew Woodgrain White cardstock. The background panel is ink smooshed with the remaining leftover ink.
For the sentiments, I die-cut several strips of Curious Metallic Champagne cardstock with Featured Sentiments Die Set. Don’t limit yourself to Sentiment Strips Stamp Sets 1 & 2, look at your other stamp sets too. The Everything Will Be Okay sentiment from Dotted Blooms Stamp Set fits perfectly!
Sympathy Card
Sympathy cards, you hate to need them but need to have them. This clean and simple sympathy card came together in minutes with leftover leaf mix die-cuts.
With deepest sympathy, from Sentiment Strips Stamp Set, is stamped in Obsidian Pigment Ink on Curious Metallic Rose Gold cardstock. Again, die-cut with Featured Sentiments Die Set.
Use Your Leftovers
Don’t store those extra leaves in a drawer or bowl to be forgotten, use them now! This card is all about using your leftovers.
To ground the Autumn Festival leaf cluster, I cut three pieces of cardstock on the diagonal and stacked them. Here I used Curious Metallic Champagne, Eucalyptus, and Chesnut.
I purchase these in a 5×7-inch size so I can use them for card fronts or die-cuts. And, you can usually find them in CutCardStock’s $1.99 section!
The sentiment is from Altenew Love Letters Stamp Set. Elevate the dimension of your die-cuts by bending and curling some of the elements, especially on the top layers.

Oh my goodness these came out so well with that watercolor! I have gotten braver and braver with using watercolor on dies…especially since I’ve realized that it doesn’t matter if you don’t do it exactly the way you want it done. It all looks nice in the end!

Love your video & each & every one of your cards Amber!! You are so talented! On the west coast of BC we are in summer mode, but we had a refreshing rain last night & now the sun is back. It’s been fun watching the squirrels dart across the large expanse of lawn to race up our black walnut tree to grab a nut & zip back to bury it somewhere. Lots of leaves to rake from that one tree alone, but it’s worth it as it provides beautiful dappled shade. The Mixed Leaves is my favourite stand alone die offered in this release, yet that’s only one that I’d like to order. The Burlap & Stacked Diamonds are next in line.
