Beautiful Zentangle® Details
I’m so excited to share this card and video tutorial today as it melds together 2 of my passions: card making & Zentangle®. This card was inspired by Altenew Academy class Beautiful Details taught by the amazing Marika Rahtu.
The theme of the class is to add your own personal touch to your card. This is Marika’s speciality. If you’ve not taken any Altenew Academy classes to date, this is the one I would recommend! It’s unique and Marika is so inspiring!
We’ll start off today by gold heat embossing the 2nd layer of each Altenew Golden Feather stamp on the background to create a patterned paper. Once the background is complete, we’ll start tangling.
The Zentangle® method of drawing was created by Maria Thomas & Rick Roberts. You can learn more about it on my CZT page or at zentangle.com. Tangles are simple patterns made of 1-3 strokes.
These repeated strokes can produce intricate designs. Anyone can tangle! Truly, if you can draw dots, lines (they can be wonky), simple curves, S-curves, and orbs, you can tangle!
You’ll need to watch the video above to see the steps for each pattern in action. The Zentangle® patterns used in today’s card are: Tipple, Verdigoh, N’zeppel, Featherfall, & Fescue.
After tangling the card, I die cut, stamped, & gold heat embossed the beautiful sentiment from Altenew Simple Flowers Stamp & Die Bundle. I stacked it on 3 more die cuts, added a sub sentiment to a piece of vellum and glued the die cut to the vellum.
I love this card because it’s unique to me. Thanks for the inspiration, Marika!

I hope all the tanglers out there will give card making a try, and that the card makers will try their hand at tangling! This card is a submission for the Level 2 Altenew Educator Certification Program. Thanks so much for stopping by! Breathe · Ink · Inspire
