Coffee Gift Cards

Whether your friends and family are into coffee, tea, or hot cocoa these gift card holder cards are sure to bring a smile to their faces.

Coffee Cup Shaped Gift Cards

These cards feature the festive We R Memory Keepers DIY Party 12 x 12 Cardstock Paper Pad, Honey Bee Stamps Coffee Cup Card Die, Altenew Create-A-Wreath Die, and Lawn Fawn Gift Card Slots Die set. As always, a full product list is below.

We R Memory Keepers DIY Party Papers

I started by die cutting all my pieces. This is double sided pattern cardstock so there are lots of choices!

For 4 cards, I cut 6 large coffee cups from We R Memory Keepers pattern paper and 2 coffee cups from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110 lb. The cards are scored by the die, so I simply reinforced the fold on 4 of the pattern paper cups with a bone folder. The cards are scored by the die.

Lawn Fawn Gift Card Slots Die

I wanted to line the inside of the card with 1 white panel and 1 coordinating pattern paper with gift card slots.

I cut the unfolded pattern paper & white coffee cups in half and trimmed off about 1-2 mm from the top of each panel. This will ensure that the card closes easily.

I used Lawn Fawn Gift Card Slots die to cut the gift card tabs from the 4 pattern paper panels.

Personalizing the Coffee Cup Sleeves

Next I die cut and stamped the coffee cup wraps from Royal Sundance Kraft paper. The stamp is a sentiment from Lawn Fawn Thanks a Latte. The Handstamped By is from The Stamp Market Handstamped set, and my name stamp was a gift from Altenew.

At this point, I felt the wraps were too clean and simple so I decided to run them trough the Big Shot with the We R Memory Keepers Chevron Embossing Folder. I think this added just the right amount of texture and authenticity to the coffee wrap!

Embossing the Coffee Cup Sleeves

Now it was time to assemble the cards. The die will score the tab for you, all you need to do is reinforce the fold with your bone folder. I used 1/8 inch Scor-Tape to ensure a secure hold.

Tip: Make sure your adhesive tabs are all on the same side so that when you put 2 together you have one tab on each side of the coffee wrap. Pay close attention to this before stamping.

Assembling the Coffee Cup Sleeves

Once the coffee wraps were assembled I added score tape to the pattern paper bases and lined it with 1 white piece and 1 coordinating pattern paper piece. Since Scor-tape is so strong, I only needed it around the edges.

Tip: Do not apply adhesive to the gift card tabs or you won’t be able to slide in the gift card.

Altenew Wreath Builder Foliage

Once I had the cards assembled, I felt the wraps were too plain. I had already embossed the paper, so additional stamping was out of the question. So I decided to add some die cuts to spice it up.

I used Astrobright Gamma Green, PopTone Wild Cherry, & Neenah Solar White papers. Altenew Create-a-Wreath is my go to anytime I need a foliage filler. I apologize, but I have no idea what set that little bow is from.

Add Gift Cards Inside the Coffee Cup Cards

I arranged the foliage swags & glued them down with Ranger Multi Matte Medium. Now I was happy with the texture and added interest. I grabbed my Starbucks Rewards card to check functionality.  Don’t worry recipients will be getting actual gift cards not the ones shown in these photos. ;o)

I love how these turned out & my girls are excited to give them to their teachers before winter break. A handmade gift card holder/card adds that extra special touch to any gift card.

I hope this project inspires you to make some custom gift card holders this holiday season. Thanks so much for stopping by. Get creative and Breathe · Ink · Inspire
