Layer Stamp Basics With Cora
Are you new to layer stamps or need a refresher? Cora, my 10-year-old daughter, is sharing layer stamp basics featuring Altenew Beautiful Heart Stamp Set and Basis cardstock.
Cora shares layer stamp basics in this short card making video tutorial. Watch here or in HD on YouTube. While you’re there I’d love it if you like, subscribe, and ring that bell.
Thanks to the COVID-19 quarantine, my three daughters are becoming skilled card makers. Gretel is an illustrator, Cora is definitely a stamper, and Liesel loves to color.
It’s a pleasure to see their skills grow and desire to share new-found knowledge with you!
Altenew Beautiful Heart
This was Cora’s first-time layer stamping and she hasn’t stopped since. She stamped this blue flower off-camera and then filmed the yellow and embossed cards for you.
Cora chose a perfect stamp set for beginners. As Cora explains in the video, it’s okay if you don’t line them up perfectly because Altenew Beautiful Heart Stamp Set has sketchy layers that are quite forgiving.

Basis Cardstock
As you can see, Cora leans towards vibrant color combinations like her mama. She chose Basis Light Yellow, Basis Black, Basis Teal, and Pop-Tone Cotton Candy for her cards. And not only that, she always uses a colored card base. My girl loves color!
She used the gold-standard Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80lb cardstock for the heat embossed panel.
Altenew Rustic Linen Embossing
While Cora is super proud of her first two cards, she wanted to add that extra something something to the background. So, she grabbed Altenew Rustic Linen Stamp Set and heat embossed for the first time.
Heat emboss the background with WOW! Gold Pearl embossing powder. Tie the flower and background together by embossing the flower center with the WOW! Embossing Pen and Gold Pearl embossing powder. Isn’t that powder gorgeous?!
Simon Says Stamp Good Vibes Die Set is hands-down Cora’s favorite sentiment die. She digs the font and the message. She cut the sentiment from Stardream Metallic Gold cardstock and the shadow from Basis Teal cardstock.
That’s a wrap guys! Many thanks to you all for watching Gretel and Cora’s videos and your encouraging comments. Here’s a link to Gretel’s Copic Envelop Art if you missed it. Big crafty hugs to you all. Stay safe!
