Nature Neutral Embossed Backgrounds
Vibrant colors are my jam, but nature provides some great neutrals too! Join me to create fabulous nature neutral embossed backgrounds.
Green is one of my favorite colors. So, I keep a few different shades of green WOW! Embossing Powders on hand. And you guessed it, they’re perfect for our nature-themed Monthly Challenge on Facebook this month.
Details to create these nature neutral embossed backgrounds are in this short card making video. Watch here or in HD on YouTube. Be sure to subscribe while you’re there!
Hello Tropics
First up, is a tropical-vibe card suitable to send to friends and family to say “Hello, wish you were here.”
As you can see, Altenew Wild Ferns Stamp Set goes perfectly with WOW! Metalline Kiwi Krush, Lime Rickey, and Gold Pearl embossing powders. The result is a fresh neutral palette.
WOW! Gold Pearl is a new favorite of mine. Due to its creamy subtle tone, it coordinates with just about any project.
Backgrounds like this come together easily and here are some tips to get you going.
- Put each stamp on a separate acrylic block
- Start the pattern in the center and work your way out
- Stamp and heat emboss one leaf at a time to prevent the powders from becoming contaminated
- Stamp the images off the page for a pattern paper look
- Keep the distance between each image consistent
Lastly, Altenew Fine Frames Square Die Set and Bold Greetings die-cuts finish off the card.
MORE ALTENEW WILD FERNS
In addition to embossing, try layer stamping Altenew Wild Ferns on Stardream Metallic cardstock.
The ink sits on top of Stardream Metallic creating a painterly effect. Learn more.
Trendy Brushstrokes
Coupled with WOW! Colour Blend Verdigris embossing powder these graphic brushstrokes have an organic feel.
This card comes together in a snap with Altenew Graphic Brushstrokes Stamp Set. I recommend loading it in a stamp positioner, such as a MISTI, so it can be stamped twice. However, if it doesn’t stamp perfectly that’s ok too.
WOW! Colour Blend Verdigris is a gorgeous mix of teal, green, black, and a bit of gold. The finish is a bit textured adding more interest to your projects. Check out the metallic shine and texture down below!
MORE ALTENEW GRAPHIC BRUSHSTROKES
It’s funny that I used teal and gold on this version of Altenew Graphic Brushstrokes too.
But, that gold isn’t heat embossed. Learn more.
Thanks so much for joining me today. I hope to see your projects over at the Facebook fan page Monthly Challenge!
