Ombre Birthday Card Set
I stamped alcohol ink panels for my previous cards with The Hedgehog Hollow May 2019 Kit, so this time we’re going back to basics and keeping things clean and simple.
We’re using 1 stamp, 1 stencil, and 3 ink colors from the same coral family to create an ombre set of cards. Ombre in the sense that each card is darker than the previous versus a gradation of color on each card.
If you got your hands on one of the Hedgehog Hollow May 2019 kits then grab the birthday stamp from the Sophia Frames Stamp Set. If you didn’t get a kit, you can definitely do this technique with any stamp set and a stencil from your stash!
I’ll be using Altenew Watercolor Stripes Stencil and Altenew Tea Party Crisp Dye Inks in Pink Pearl, Coral Bliss, and Heart Beat.
I started by stamping 3 A2 sized Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80 lb panels with clear embossing in and heat embossing with gold powder. I also did one card with black ink and clear embossing powder.
Next, I taped my stencil to the paper and ink blended one color on each card. This created the ombre set. As a bonus card, I ink blended Altenew Just Green over the black stamped image. I think a set including bring rainbow colors would be sweet!
With the green card I did full ink blending in the middle of the circle. For the coral cards I left a bit of white in the center to highlight the sentiment.
That’s it, folks! Super simple cards creating an elegant set to use or gift to a friend. Thanks so much for joining me today. Happy crafting and I’ll see you again real soon!
Awesome cards, Amber! Love the soft pinks!
