1 Color Palette 5 Media

I’m delighted to showcase new Altenew products with 1 Color Palette and 5 Media! If you made your way here from Sveta Fontinia’s blog you’re right on track. To start at the beginning head to the Altenew Card Blog.

Let’s take a look at the new release! Click the image or here for product details.

YouTube Tutorial | 1 Color Palette 5 Media

My eye twitched the last release when half of my cards were pink and purple and the other half were gold and black. So, this time we’re color coordinating the lot with 1 color palette and 5 media.

1 Color Palette 5 Media

I don’t remember why I have embroidery floss. I’ve never embroidered before, but like any self-respecting crafter, I tend to have all the things packed away somewhere.

So after rooting around, I landed on coral, yellow, and green floss. Next, I leveraged Altenew’s color coordinating media and chose Coral Berry, Chamomile (or other yellow), Olive, and black inks, markers, and watercolor.

I intended to grab the 36 Pan Watercolor and Brush Markers, but didn’t make it out of my seat and used inks for watercolor. You’ll forgive me I’m sure! So maybe 5 media/techniques would be more accurate.

String Art Heart Die

I have added die-cut fabric to my card designs before, but embroidery floss was new a new medium for me. Altenew’s String Art Dies are pretty darn cool and design possibilities are endless.

Dot Botanicals Stamp Set

Here, I used the embossed resist technique with Altenew Dot Botanicals Stamp Set and ink blended Coral Berry, Chamomile, and Olive Crisp Dye Ink.

This is one of my favorite color palettes ever! It’s as close as I’ll get to a fall palette.

Grateful Heart Stamp & Die Bundle

This layer stamp set is so festive! I’m in love with the striped texture. In true Amber fashion, I didn’t just stamp them with solid ink. I stamped each layer a second-time rock n rolling a darker ink around the edges.

This adds a touch more dimension and interest to the blooms. Check out today’s video and my Build-a-Flower: Crocus video for more details on rock n roll layer stamping.

Altenew Grateful Heart

I colored the smaller flowers with Red Cosmos, Tropical Forest, and Summer Afternoon Altenew Artist Markers, plus some Mango Smoothie.

Precious Peony Stamp & Die Bundle

Yasss, no masking needed for these gorgeous peony arrangements! I finally put my big girl pants on and tried Alex Syberia’s dot coloring technique. I was not brave enough to do it in full technicolor, not yet! Her talent astounds me!!

Altenew Precious Peony

I love this set so much, I used it twice. However, I watercolored the second round. Wondering what’s up with the black background?

The background intended for this card wasn’t working for me, so I used it on one of my washi tape cards from the last hop. It was the card with Golden Dots and Deco Lines Washi die-cut Leaf Clusters. I love that card so it all worked out!

Altenew Precious Peony

Plus, I think I like this one too. The black background definitely sets off the watercolor peony like, Bam! Um, see those watercolor pans over there in the pic, I didn’t use those as I intended, I used Crisp Dye Inks.
