Alcohol Ink

When it comes to alcohol ink, there are loads of options available. First, there are alcohol inks sold specifically for alcohol ink projects. Some brands are Ranger Tim Holtz Alcohol Ink, Jacquard Piñata, and Brea Reese alcohol inks.

In addition, you can also use alcohol marker refills. Such as Copic Various Ink refills and Altenew Artist Marker Refills. In fact, Altenew has relabeled their Artist Marker Refills as Altenew Alcohol Ink.

Whatever, type of alcohol ink you choose, I recommend you buy individual colors you love as opposed to sets of colors. I have moved away from buying full sets of colors, as there are always a few I never use.

Also, don’t be afraid to mix brands. They play nicely together and this gives you more color options.

I just enjoyed so much watching you create this piece. The alcohol background is so interesting. I need to get out my supplies and play. I took a Zentangle class many years ago and haven’t done any. Need to start after looking at your creation. Thank you so much for these great videos. I really enjoy them.

This is a fabulous way to work with alcohol ink background. I played with this idea this afternoon and had fun. Happy with the results, too. Two sheets are patterned florals and two are actual scenes. Thanks for the invitation and inspiration! Stay well.
