Copic Colored Snowmen
These Copic colored snowmen from The Hedgehog Hollow October 2019 are excellent for your winter and holiday cards. Not sure what to do with your characters once they’re colored? Then this card design is perfect for you!
Copic Marker Colors
I kicked off this card by coloring the snowmen with Copics in the following colors. I colored with the standard flicking, except I dotted the hat pom-pom. After the coloring was complete, I fussy cut the images right up to the outline.
Teal accessories: BG72, BG75, BG78
Pink accessories: R81, R83, R69
Hat: C3, C5, C7, C9
Snowmen: BV20, C00, 0
Carrot noses: YR02, YR07
Holly: YG13
Scene Building
My Copic blending skills are pretty basic, meaning, I’m not ready to create a freehand Copic colored scene for these little guys. If you can do that, please do! I love those scenes. If you’re not up to it, then hang tight, because this technique works for all your characters. Let me know what group you fall into down below!
I created a striped watercolor panel with 3 different sized flat brushes and diluted grey watercolor. Once dry, I die-cut a circle from the center and from a white piece of card stock.
I dry embossed the white cardstock circle with the stencil included in the October box. Dry embossing adds just enough texture and interest without distracting the eye from the snowmen.
I popped up the watercolor panel on foam tape, adhered it to an A2 sized card base, and inlaid the dry embossed circle.
Next, I adhered the snowmen, stamped a sentiment, and added snowflakes here and there with the snowflake stencil and Nuvo Glimmer Paste.
That’s all for today. I hope you enjoyed this seasonal snowman scene card and give it a go with your subscription box. Thanks so much for joining me and I’ll see you soon with more inspiration!
