Copic Spotlight Coloring – Stamptember 2018

For this STAMPtember release, I pulled out a myriad of coloring mediums. In the previous cards, I did a no-line watercolor with Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens and Distress Oxide Stamping. So for this card, I grabbed a rainbow of Copic markers to help this sentiment come to life.

When I saw the “Our Hearts Need You” sentiment from the STAMPtember Spiritual Sentiments Stamp Set, I knew I needed to pair it with a rainbow unicorn. I was thinking, we need YOU out of the crowd & our hearts need to believe in magic. And that’s how this card was born.

Let’s get started. I grabbed an A2 sized white card stock panel and stamped 4 unicorns on a diagonal. One panel was stamped in Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink and 1 panel with Barely Beige. I set the Barely Beige panel aside for a later date but wanted to stamp it while I had the supplies at hand.

Copic Markers

Next up, I Copic colored 1 unicorn with the following markers.

R: RV02, RV25, RV29
O: YR15, YR07, R17
Y: Y13, Y15, Y18
G: G02, G05, G09
B: B04, B06, B26
V: V04, V09, BV08
G: W1, W3, W5, W7, 0

After coloring was complete, I marked the top and bottom of a black A2 sized piece of cardstock to create two panels to frame the diagonally stamped unicorns. I gold heat embossed the sentiment and 2 strips to line the inside edge of the black cardstock panels and popped them up with foam tape.

I added Sakura Metallic Gelly Roll Gold pen to the unicorn’s horn and hooves for sparkle and shine. I just love how the card turned out and message of the sentiment and image together.
