WOW! Embossing & Whimsy Stamps Collab
Welcome to the WOW! Embossing Powder & Whimsy Stamps Collab Blog Hop + Giveaway which runs from March 30 until April 5th. As we have so many talented designers wanting to play along, we decided to celebrate by splitting the blog hop up over two days.
If you made your way here from the lovely Tricia Barber‘s blog, you’re right on track. The full list of deisgners is listed below.
I enjoy a creative challenge and was intrigued by the Wavy Nested Frames Die Set. So, I thought it would be fun to create a couple of cards with nesting dies, embossing powders, and no stamps. Eek, no stamps? So strange, LOL!
YouTube Tutorial | Nesting Dies Two Ways
All the details to make these cards are in the video, so I’ll be brief here on the blog. Watch here or on in HD on YouTube.
I’d love it if you like, subscribe, and comment while you’re there!
Sparkle Geode
My first thought when I saw the Wavy Nested Frames Die Set was to create a sparkly geode.
Each die-cut panel is ink blended with a different shade of purple ink from Altenew Sugar Plums Crisp Dye Ink set: Pale Mauve, Amethyst, and Grape Agate. I printed the sentiment from my computer and die-cut it with the smallest Wavy Nested Frames Die.
The geode rings are heat embossed with Clear Hologram Sparkle and Clear Sparkle embossing powders. Clear gems finished off the card. Adding chunky WOW! Sparkles Glitter would be a fabulous addition too!
Bahama Beach
WOW! Caribbean Charm Trio is gorgeous and perfect for glistening water and beach scenes. Here I used one of the Wavy Nested Frames Dies to inset part of this scene.
The silhouette palm trees and beach are drawn with Altenew Artist Markers and Copic markers.
The sky is ink blended with Altenew Crisp Dye Inks: Hydrangea, Ocean Waves, Sunray, Snapdragon, Coral Bliss, and Coral Berry. I used a simple circle mask for the sun.
The WOW! Caribbean Charm Trio has some of the coolest powders I’ve seen. In addition to glitter embossing powder, they have large chunky white pieces to mimic waves or surf.
I used WOW! Clear Ultra Slow Drying Embossing Pad and Mixed Media Embossing Brush to heat emboss the ocean with Bahama embossing powder. So cool!
The sand is heat embossed with Black Glint embossing powder. I used the Mixed Media Brush to dry brush embossing gel onto the trees and sprinkled on Black Glint there as well. I love that dry brushed look!

I just posted a l ok ng comment and who knows where it went but your cards are fab and I especially adore the beach one! We bbn used to live at the beach and I miss it terribly! Love the vibe and looking forward to the video!
