Ornament Shaker Cards
These cards reminded me of decorating the inside of clear and frosted glass ornament bulbs. Follow along and see how they’re made. Products and video below.
This set features Simon Says Stamp Critter Sweaters stamp set from their new Fun & Festive release. I started by taking almost all of the knit pattern stamps and aligning them on my MISTI.
Tip: Once you have the stamps lined up, stamp multiple card fronts for different projects.
I inked up the stamps with VersaMark and stamped onto two A2 sized card panels in Simon Says Stamp Audrey Blue and Schoolhouse Red.
I then covered the blue card with white embossing powder and the red with gold embossing powder and melted it with a pre-heated heat tool.
I then die cut 2 Neenah Solar White 80lb panels to 4 x 5 1/4 inches to allow for an 1/8 border on each side. I die cut a circle out of the white panels with a 2.5 inch die. I cut a 3″ piece of acetate and vellum and heat embossed the sentiment onto the vellum square. I backed each ornament window with one of the 3″ squares.
I covered the back of the white panels with 3M Foam tape, added Pretty Pink Posh Marshmallow Confetti Mix to the blue card, and centered the white panels on the embossed panels.
For the ornament toppers I hand drew the blue top and filled in the gold part with a Gellyroll Metallic Gold pen which I then covered with Gold Delicata ink to match the sentiment. I filled in the blue part with Copic BG10, BG13, and BG15 and added detail with White Gellyroll pen.
For the red ornament card, I die cut some leaves and a bow using the Fall Wreaths die set from Simon Says Stamp (no longer available).
I assembled the cards, tucking the twine behind the card panel and added embellishment with Pretty Pink Posh Marshallow and Gold Confetti Mixes.
I hope you enjoyed these cards today and feel inspire to create your own ornament cards. Thanks so much for stopping by. Get creative and remember to Breathe · Ink · Inspire. See the Simon Says Stamp Fun & Festive release here.
