I have two tiles and videos to share today featuring Zentangle® on gold cardstock with patterns: rumpus, printemps, ravel, and tipple.

Gold Cardstock

Today, I’m creating with two shades of gold cardstock. I tangled Ravel on Stardream Metallic Gold and Rumpus on Curious Metallic White Gold.

Stardream Metallic Gold is one of my favorite gold papers. I use it more frequently than any other gold cardstock. It’s perfect for just about any application and I especially love it for sentiment die cuts.

Gold cardstock is on sale this month at CutCardStock.com. Head over and stock up on these gorgeous papers. Check the $1.99 section too!

Zentangle® Patterns

If we haven’t met yet, I’m Amber Rain Davis, and I’m a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT). I love to tangle, though I don’t do it as often as I should. Typically, you’ll find me incorporating Zentangle® into card making.

We’re not making handmade cards today. However, I have used a one of my card making staples to cut the tiles, Honey Bee Stamps Deckle Edge Circle Dies.

Rumpus

Rumpus is a fantastic focal tangle created by Maria Thomas, one of the founders of the Zentangle® method of drawing and Zentangle, Inc. You can find more information about rumpus here.

Ravel

Ravel is a flowing organic pattern that may resemble waves or flower petals. Find more information about ravel here. I hope the video is helpful to get you started with ravel.

Printemps

Printemps is a fabulous filler tangle perfect for backgrounds. It’s equally beautiful inked in black or white. I may go back and add weight to the lines of the black printemps as that’s my favorite variation.

Polychromos Pencil Shading

Typically, I shade Zentangle® tiles with a graphite pencil. To preserve the spectacular gold tone of the paper, I used Polychromos pencils to shade.

These colors used can be found in the Polychromos 36 Tin set, Ochre, Burnt Ochre, Pompeian Red, Walnut Brown, Raw Umber, and Warm Grey V.
